Gen Bolena, M.M., Organist and Choirmaster

Gen Bolena was appointed Organist/Choirmaster at Christ Church in 2007. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees in sacred music from Seton Hill University and East Carolina University. While at ECU, she studied organ with Dr. Janette Fishell and choral conducting with Dr. Daniel Bara. Gen also studied organ at the International Summer Music Academy in Leipzig, Germany in 2001 and renowned Oundle International Summer School for Organists in 2003, where she was awarded recital opportunities in Oxford and Ludlow.

In addition to organ and choral studies, Gen is currently in the process of becoming an Orff Schulwerk certified teacher through George Mason University’s summer program in Fairfax, Virginia.
